Washington, DC - Former President Barack Obama and wife, Michelle Obama are reportedly visiting Chicago to meet with local people to discuss their plans to build libraries and museums.
The Obama Foundation announced on Monday 1 May 2017 that the couple will be involved in a roundtable discussion on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
The meeting aims to "update the community information" there about the development of the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park, Chicago, Illinois.
The Obama Development Presidential Center will work with the University of Chicago.
The couple Obama and Michelle mentioned will also accommodate ideas related to the construction of the library.
New York-based Ralph Appelbaum Associate Company is rumored to be leading a team of companies and individuals with a range of expertise such as media, lighting and acoustics in museum design.
With a minimum fund of US $ 500 million, the Presidential Center is expected to be operational by 2021.
"More than just a building or museum, the Obama Presidential Center will be a center of community engagement and a place to inspire people and communities to create change," the Obama Foundation said in a statement released Monday as quoted by the Independent, Tuesday (2 / 5/2017).
The discussion in Chicago adds to Obama's long-standing public appearance after, precisely on April 24, he also talked about the issue of community involvement among the younger generation. The event that took place at the University of Chicago - the campus where Obama once taught the law - was gaining widespread attention from the public.
